Cleaning the Radiators (My recommendation for 15k)The radiators tend to scoop unbelievable amounts
of dirt and debris, and grasshoppers. I strongly encourage you to remove the
front bumper skirt and thoroughly clean deep inside the scoops. Here is a link
to my old website's instructions on how to access
and clean the radiators. I have also included recommendations on how to
re-route the front trunk emergency release cable. If your battery dies, you're
really going to want this to have been
done. Mike McCarry offers the following additional suggestions when you want to clean the radiators: Skyler, Just completed the cleaning of the radiator and AC condenser on my '98 Boxster. I wanted to thank you for the CLEAR instructions! This made the job sooo easy. One comment I have, that hopefully may help others, is with the cleaning. First, I should say that I am an engineer, and am cautious when recommending anything. Following the instructions on the bottle are necessary! With that said, between the vacuum and water step, I used CLR Bathroom and Tile Cleaner. This product has the necessary strength to remove the grease, grime and oxidation on the aluminum, without etching the metal. You should not use the higher strength version of this product. Read the Caution statement if unsure. Just spray the solution on both the AC condenser and the radiator. I placed a bucket under them both to catch the over spray. I then used a soft 1-1/2" paint brush to work the product in between the fins,,,gently. I allowed the solution to set approx. 3 minutes. I then used my hose with sprayer, on a "fog" setting, to remove the dirt and solution. It is amazing how much does come out. I then followed this with use of a leaf blower, and blew the remaining water and residue out. Both the radiator and condenser look like new!
